How to Rock Front Bangs

  • I don't know about you, but I have always been intrigued by the idea of cutting front bangs. However, if you're not too ambitious, this may seem like a daunting task.

If it goes well, then that's great! But if it doesn't, you're stuck having to pin them back or attempting to style them to the side of your face.

That being said, don't exit out of this article just yet because here are some tips, tricks, and ways to rock front bangs.

    1. DECIDE IF YOU WANT THICK BANGS OR WISPY BANGS

This could make or break your look. Some people look awesome with thick bangs, but some prefer bangs that don't completely hide the forehead.

Thick bangs usually don't show much of the forehead which makes them perfect for hiding troublesome acne (although it could also cause acne if you don't wash your hair often enough). Also, if you hate your eyebrows, these are perfect for hiding them (Zooey Deschanel -2nd pic-  says that's why SHE got bangs!)

    WISPY

Wispy bangs are perfect if you think your hairstyle is a bit dull. They don't cover up your forehead really but they definitely can frame the face well if done right.

DISCLAIMER: Do not make them too wispy. It might just look like untamed baby hairs.

    2. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW HOW TO STYLE YOUR BANGS

Without proper tools, styling front bangs can go very wrong. The ideal way for bangs to sit on your face is not straight down, but along the curve your forehead makes.

This can best be done by a barrel brush and a hair blowdryer.

Kim's bangs fall naturally on her forehead and can fall to the side and still look good. This is only natural because the bangs are styled in a way that is natural, they follow the curve of the forehead.

DISCLAIMER: If not done like this, the bangs can look choppy and out of place, like here:

    Tsk Tsk.

Please style them like this to avoid that:

    3. KEEP THE REST OF YOUR HAIR IN CONTROL

Although bangs can be the most defining portion of your hairstyle, the rest of your hair should be in check too to really pull them off.

    Here are some inspirations:

    Wear them with wavy/curly hair.

They look really good with short wavy hair as well.

They can look very sophisticated with straight hair as well.

Wearing them with a high or low bun can also really pull together an updo. Just make sure to leave a few longer strands on the sides (curled or uncurled) to frame your face.
